With historic ties to East African colonies, this red vermouth was made with the inclusion of rare spices along with Nebbiolo wine (like the region's famous Barolo wine) and Alpine herbs, imparting a wonderful depth of dry, herbal flavour. Flavours of dried liquorice roots and wormwood, bittersweet with dark red fruits, zesty orange peel, drying herbs and baking spices.

Tasting notes

For its 130th anniversary, Bordiga has relaunched its historical Vermouth Excelsior. According to the original recipe, it is produced using Nebbiolo wine aged in wooden barrel for three years.

Area of production

All raw materials come from the city and valleys of Cuneo, Piemonte. The deep respect for the environment, and the rigorously artisanal production with the best local herbs, carefully handpicked, characterise Bordiga's historic distillery.

Fun facts

Bordiga created his first Vermouth in 1888, when his business was founded. From that moment on, it carried a very long tradition of excellence and quality assurance. The best Piedmont’s and Italian’s wines and the best Al- pine herbs are carefully mixed with exotic spices from East Africa to make the traditional Turin’s Vermouth with the “SUPERIOR QUALITY” label.
