Legend has it that each morning in Old Venice, a wine vendor would set up his cart at the foot of the famous Campanile in Piazza San Marco… the bell tower in St Mark’s square. Through the day, as the sun beat its way across the piazza cobblestones, he would move to stay in the bell tower’s shadow – ombra, in Italian – making sure his wine kept cool and fresh.To this day, ask any Venetian tavern-keeper for “two shadows” – “Dame do ombre!” – and he’ll know exactly what you mean… two small chalice-glasses of fine Prosecco (you’ll never ask for just one ombra, because it is always to be shared with a friend!).Fresh, crisp and dry, this authentic Prosecco from the Province of Treviso is as rewarding as that welcome patch of breezy shade on a sweltering summer’s day...

Tasting notes

Pale straw yellow with a fine, persistent perlage. Fresh and fruity, with notes of crisp green apple, complemented by delicate floral aromas of wisteria and acacia. Elegant and slightly austere, with a refreshing, refined character.

A fresh, dry and aromatic Prosecco ideal for any celebration with its elegance and food-pairing versatility, from aperitif to dessert. Ideal with seafood, spaghetti with clams and salami.

Area of production

From the hills of Collalbrigo in the Treviso province, where ancient, deep clay soils meet the gravel-rich soils along the Piave River. Significant day-night temperature variations during ripening help preserve freshness and enhance the wine’s vibrant aromas. The vineyards are trained using the Guyot system, with yields of around 150 quintals per hectare.
Production process

After careful manual selection, the grapes are harvested around mid-September. The must ferments in temperature- and pressure-controlled tanks to create the sparkling wine base. Each cuvée then undergoes a second fermentation in autoclave, developing its fine, lively bubbles.
