A beautiful sparkling rosato of Lambrusco Salamino. The grapes only spend a night infused with their skins, leaving a light, bright wine that is a beautiful shade of pink. Initially fermented in vat, the wine is transferred to the bottle with a little must for the second fermentation. The result is a vibrant, cloudy sparkling wine that sings with flavours of blood orange, earth and bitter herbs.

Fun facts

When it comes to deciding on drinks in our household, there is one answer that never fails: PROSECCO! This wine holds a special place in our hearts as it comes from our hometown, Treviso. However, during our last trip to Italy we went to Emilia Romagna and rediscovered LAMBRUSCO, an incredibly versatile wine - slightly sparkling, fresh, easy to drink and perfect both as an aperitivo and with meals.

Lambrusco gained a bit of a bad reputation over the years, primarily due to its bulk distribution in the 1970s-80s in America, where it was available only as an overly sweet and cloying wine. But thanks to the work of some incredible local producers, there are now some exquisite examples of Lambrusco on the market and we think we have hit the jack-pot by meeting our new friends from Quarticello.

The Quarticello farm is located in Val d’Enza, Reggio Emilia, on the bank of the river of the same name that divides the provinces of Reggio Emilia and Parma, at the foot of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. The production focuses on native vines such as Lambrusco Maestri, Lambrusco Salamino, Lambrusco Grasparossa, Malbo Gentile and Malvasia di Candia.
